Monday, July 3, 2017, the fun begins at 5:30 pm with concerts at Fruitlands Museum. The gates open at 5:00 pm. There will be a full night of concerts by local musicians like NoMan’s Land, the Bare Hill Band and more. Each band will play for thirty minutes to an hour.

The fireworks are scheduled to start at sundown, which should be about 9:15 pm.

Tuesday, July 4, 2017, the town celebrates with a full day of events. There’s a parade that starts at 11:00 am at the Library Field, a bike parade, an awards presentation, a flag raising ceremony and more. The most popular events are the field events that run from 12:15 pm to 3:00 pm. Participants can join in events like the pie eating contest, the greased pole race, the duck pond race, the tin can knockdown, the candy scramble, a three-legged race, a parent-child relay, an egg toss or a sack race. There will also be face painting and temporary tattoos.

The Harvard Independence Day parade features antique cars, decorated bikes, costumed characters, bands, fire trucks, floats, and more.

On Tuesday, July 4, 2017, the town will host the Great Harvard 4th of July Road Race and Fun Run. The road race is a five-mile race that starts at 8:15 am. The fun run starts at 9:30 am. Both races start at Hildreth Elementary School.
