The Woburn Kiwanis sponsor a carnival and fireworks display every year to celebrate Flag Day. This year the event will be held on Friday and Saturday, June 15 and 16, 2018. The hours for the carnival are 6:00 to 10:00 pm on Friday and 4:00 to 11:00 pm on Saturday.

Friday is Family Nite at the carnival with special discount pricing for the rides. The fireworks are scheduled for Saturday night. They should start at about 10:00 pm.

The carnival is a fundraiser for the Woburn Kiwanis. The group supports many local projects. Here are a few words on what they are working on in Woburn.

This is the time of the year when the Woburn Kiwanis Club starts gearing up for our annual Flag Day Celebration, which will be held Friday and Saturday, June 15 and 16, 2018.

The Kiwanis International motto of “serving the children of the world” is true but we also have our own motto and that is “serving the community of Woburn”. We have donated money and manpower on a yearly basis to local charities, including the Woburn Boys and Girls Club, Woburn High School and Northeast Regional High School scholarship funds, Woburn Council of Social Concern, Hospice Care, Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Institute (KPTI) at the New England Medical Center, Woburn High School Academic Awards Banquet and our own Terrific Kid Program. We have sponsored many local sports teams and have donated to specific requests based on need.

However, we cannot do this without the donations and support of the local business community. If you have ever visited our Christmas Tree lot, attended Sports Night, sponsored a hole in our annual golf tournament, or bought an ad in our Flag Day Supplement in the past, we along with all those in need, thank you again.

You can find out more information on the club site.
