Taunton Fireworks ***
Update: We’ve searched everywhere on the Taunton website and on Facebook and we can not find anything about fireworks this year. We will update this page when we know something.
Taunton will host a fireworks display on Friday, August 25, 2017, at Hopewell Park on Hamilton Street. The event is called the End of Summer Festival. It is scheduled to begin at 6:00 pm and runs until about 10:00 pm, after the fireworks are finished.
The public is invited to this free event. Everyone is encouraged to bring chairs and blankets and to have a family picnic. There will be a food truck pavilion and live entertainment from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Big Nazo will play from 6:00 to 7:00 and Ball in the House will play from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. The fireworks are scheduled to start at dusk, or about 9:00 pm.
Here is a statement from the town about this community celebration: you probably remember last year’s Family 4th Night was canceled due to inclement weather, so we held an “End of the Summer Festival” in its place. We received a ton of great feedback around the timing of the event last year. We heard over and over how nice it was to have “one last celebration” for families to look forward to after their summer vacations, beach days, and pool parties were coming to an end. We were told the end of the summer, after the hustle and bustle of summer festivities, but right before the kiddos head back to school, was the best time for this event. We’re happy to say we heard you, and the End of the Summer Festival will return on Friday, August 25, 2017! The format will stay the same: food trucks, family entertainment, and of course fireworks. If you’ve never been to this event (formerly known as Family 4th Night) just ask someone who has, you don’t want to miss it. Save the date, and be on the lookout for more event details coming soon.
