The following is the main content from one of my first websites, a small site built totally in basics HTML for a local antique cooperative that I was involved with. The store was Antiques on the Square and it was owned and managed by a marvelous lady named Julie Andrews. Julie was a friend of ours that died a few years back and every time we head north on River Road, have a martini, or see a sign that says Easton, We instantly think of Julie. For us, she has never died and she always seems near. She is our personal Casper the friendly ghost.
Julie was in the antique business for decades. She had been in antique co-ops in the Poconos and all over Eastern Pennsylvania. We first met her at her shop on Northhampton Street called Granny’s Cupboard. We went there for years before we moved in and rented space from her. After some time, we ended up moving up the street with her to the main square, where she changed the name of the shop to Antiques on the Square. We had a great time there and we made a friend among friends, named Julie Andrews. Here’s to you, Julie.
Julie’s Emporium Antiques on the Square was a group of over 20 antique dealers housed in a 5,000-square-foot antique mall in the center of Easton Pennsylvania. The store closed a few years back and Julie passed away some time ago. This page is our tribute to Julie and the good times we had together. She is deeply missed. These were some of the dealers who had booths at the shop. (Click on the name to see the antique dealers specialty):
